A Silent Siege by C.K Rider, Review by Shell the Mad Booker
A Silent Siege picks up where A New War left off, and it's far from Silent. It's louder, more chaotic, and even more hypnotic. I loved A New War, but I think I may love A Silent Siege a teeny bit more. The Magic system becomes more alive as the FMC becomes more powerful and inherits more of it. I loved the teleporting between realms, the ever changing Auras, and the 4 crystals have me extremely intrigued. It was hinted on within this book and looks to carry over to book 3. I

Tane By Patricia Ngaheu Review by Shell The Mad Booker
Tane is the 2nd book from Patricia Ngaheu. It is the Male counterpart to Hine, which was released earlier this year. I know nothing of the Maori culture, but I am always excited to learn about other cultures and their stories. I was drawn in from the very first page. Ngaheu is a master storyteller. It felt like an invitation to sit at the campfire with her to listen to her speak to her ancestors. It felt like an honour and a privilege. Although the stories were dark, her pros

Vow Blades by C.K Rider. Reviewed by Shell The Mad Booker.
And this, peeps, is why C.K Rider is an automatic purchase Author for me. She can not write a bad story in my opinion. Love triangle, enemies to lovers, Monsters, political secrets, quests, magic and bonded mates. Add to that, found family and dragons, lots and lots of dragons, (and some sassy ones at that) and you are taken on an adventure that keeps you up at night, reading just one more chapter. So many one liners had me smirking and the battle scenes had me holding my br

Summer Lovin' Anthology by Spellwings Press Authors Review by Shell The Mad Booker
The Authors of Spellwings Press have done it again, with this Summer Lovin' Anthology. But dont let the name fool you. Its far from the sweet, fluffy love stories that you were probably expecting. There's darkness, supernatural creatures, magic and spice, but they all have an element of love woven into the words. This is a great way to sample the Authors of Spellwings Press work before venturing into each individual publication. You wont be disappointed. Find it on Goodreads

A New War by C.K Rider Review by Shell The Mad Booker
I love a wolf shifter story. This one was so good. I loved the twist to the shifter lore. C K Rider creating someone different. The Aura or halo was a really inspired storyline. I really enjoyed the Army aspect. All fantasy/Romantasy have an aspect of military and war storyline but they have more of a medieval type feel to them. This is the first book that I have read that includes a modern day Military/Army storyline. I found that really refreshing. I always love a found fam

Chosen By Darkness by Rachel Hatley Review by Shell The Mad Booker.
Wow! What a ride. I was hooked at page 1. Hatley's writing kept me turning the pages. I needed to know what was happening next. This thriller had my heart racing, jumping at noises and made me check that my doors were locked. I loved the found family aspect, not just for the MCs but the side characters as well. Shout out to Paige and Otis for their never ending protection and loyalty. I cried for Otis.... twice. I may also have teared up in the last chapter. I loved the roman

Siren by Isla Melysin Review by Shell The Mad Booker
Love, love, loved this book. I haven't read any books about Siren's, so I found this fascinating. The Lore, the beautiful Siren colours, the shimmery spellwings, the Tides, I fell in love with this world. The World building was phenomenal. I could practically feel and smell the sea. I felt completely immersed. The blood bound bond was comforting and, at times, painful. The blood family disconnect was heartbreaking. The found family, was absolutely everything, until it starte
