Azarael and Nephra are the emotional anchors to this book, their slow burn connection, moments of intensity and rich development drive you forward through the story, leaving you aching and wanting more. The intense moments of action, learning and lore coupled with the rest of the cast, of whom you will find yourself falling for without realizing it leaves you stunned, constantly wanting more.


I gasped, I teared up, I yelled at my screen as I read and I sat in utter disbelief at the very end of this book-uttering 'how could you' at least seven times.


As a reader I am deceased, feeling absolutely victimized by this deep delve into the mythos that Rachel Hatley has created....and at the same time I am sitting here screaming for more.


If deeply woven high stakes fantasies are what you are searching for, then search no more. Just prepare yourself for pure emotional devastation, wrapped in one of the most beautiful covers I've ever seen on a book to date!


One of my top reads of 2026, and I am so deeply grateful I had the opportunity to read and fall in love with this book. And I cannot wait for the next installment, and everything else that this talented author is bound to do!
