KayKay's Review of Siren by Isla Melysin

A Coming of Age High Fantasy shrouded in High Stakes, Lore and Living.

Recently finished reading this first installment in the Trident Throne Trilogy (as well as the following two) and when I tell you the screams that were scrumpt during my read of Siren... let's just say there were plenty.

Melysin takes you on a wild journey of emotional high stakes, building a stunning world that you can fall into with her FMC, Serena, leading the charge. Character development flourishes as Serena grows, into both herself and the world around her.

She accepts the hand she was dealt with a grace far beyond her years, and utilizes that as the foundation of her strength.

Each character is written with precision, casting you into their minds with every feature of them on the pages. The pacing, the prose and the overall aesthetic of this book sent me over the edge, watching it through my own lens as I soaked up every word.

You will laugh, you will cry... but most importantly, you will fall in love with the world of the Siren.

And yes, I cried.

And immediately reached for book two.

This is one of those books that will absolutely break a readers slump, with the force of a trident, a sirens call and everything else all wrapped up into one highly emotional kill-shot.
